1. Main Application

XLPE(Cross linked polyethylene) cable constitutes the best cable for transmission and distribution lines because of its excellent electrical and physical properties. These cables has the advantage of simplicity in construction, lightness in weight; convenience in application besides its excellent electrical, thermal, mechanical and anti-chemical corrosion properties. It can also be laid with no limitation of level difference along the route.

3. Product Properties

The product is suitable for power transmission and distribution lines with rated power frequency voltage 0.6/1 kV .

3.1 Rated voltages: 0.6/1 kV

3.2 The ambient temperature for installation: ≥0℃

3.3 Maximum conductor temperature in normal operation:≤90℃

3.4 Max operating temperature of con. When cable short-circuited(5s maximum duration): 250℃

3.5 Permissible minimum bending radius:

Single unarmoured cable: (20D±5%)mm

Multi-core unarmoured cable:(15D±5%)mm

Single armoured cable: (15D±5%)mm

Multi-core armoured cable:(12D±5%)mm

6.1  XLPE insulated Power Cables for rated voltages up to and including 0.6/1kV

Conductor shaped:RE=circular solid,CC=compacted circular stranded,SM=sector shaped stranded

Conductors: Plain circular, compacted or shaped stranded copper or aluminium conductor

Insulation:XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) rated at 90°C

Colour identification

1 Core : Red or Black

2 Cores : Red, Black

3 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue

4 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black

5 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, Green

Above 5 Cores: Black Cores with White numerals

The above identifying can be changed as order

Assembly /Inner Sheath Two, Three or Four insulated conductors are laid-up together with non-hygroscopic fillers and the assembly is bedded with an extruded layer of PVC. In case of non-armoured cables, this layer may be omitted

ArmourAluminum/Galvanized Steel Wires, single core cables shall be Aluminium wire armour, Aluminum/Steel Tapes applied helically over the bedding of multi-core cables as per IEC 60502.

Outer SheathOuter sheath shall be of Extruded PVC Type ST2 as per IEC 60502-1 or Type 9 as BS 6346/5467.Special type of PVC sheathing material such as Fire Retardant PVC, Anti-Termite PVC, Anti-Rodent PVC, Sunlight resistant PVC, Oil Resistant PVC are available on special request. Also, special sheathing materials such as LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, LSZH, and CPE are available on request.

Fire Performance of Cable Sheaths

Cables can be supplied with special flame retardant PVC outer sheath to comply With the flame test requirements of IEC 60332-3-22, IEC 60332-3-23 and IEC 60332-3-24, we can also supply cables with Low Smoke Halogen Free (LSHF) material according to IEC 60502-1, BS 7211, BS 6724 or other equivalent standards.

 

6.2  XLPE insulated  Power Cables for rated voltages up to and including 3.6-35kV

Conductor: Plain annealed stranded compacted circular copper or aluminium conductor to IEC60228 class 2

Conductor Screen:Extruded semi-conductive compound

Insulation:XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) rated at 90°C

Insulaton Screen:Extruded semi-conductive compound

Metallic Screen:copper tape ora concentric layer of copper wires

Colour for core indentification:Red,Yellow ,Blue tape shall be applied between insulation screen and metallic screen( The above identifying can be changed as order)

Assembly : Three screened cores are laid up together ,if necessary filled with non hygroscopic material compatible with insulation and covered with a layer of PVC sheath

Inner Sheath:Extruded layer of PVC ST2 or PE , LSZH

Armour: Double of galvanized steel tape or galvanized steel wire for three core power cable ,Double of aluminium tape or aluminium wire for single power cable

Outer Sheath: PVC type ST2 to IEC 60502 or PE ,LSZH

Single core, CU or AL conductor, XLPE insulated, PVC sheathed Power Cable, 0.6/1kV to IEC60502-1
